Computer security or cyber security is the protection of computer system,networks,and data from unauthorized access,attacks,damage,or theft.It encompasses many practice and technology to ensure the confidentiality,integrity,and availability(CTA triad)of digital information.
                                                         

Types Of Computer Security:-


1.Network Security:-

Goal:To protect the intergrity as well as usability of information and devices in network.

Key Features:Firewalls,IDS/IPS,VPNs as well as network.


2.Application Security:-


Goal:To make sure that software and application are free of cyber threat.

Key Features:Secure coding,updates,penetration as well as application firewalls.


3.End-Point Security:-

Goal: Protect end-user devices such as desktops, laptops, and mobile phones.

Key Features: include antivirus software, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and data encryption.


4.Information Security:-

Goal: Protect sensitive data from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

Key Features:Data encryption,secure access controls,and compliance with data protection regulation(eg-GDPR,HIPAA).


5.Mobile Security:-

Goal:Smartphones,tablets and other mobile devices from threats.

Key Features:Mobile devices management(MDM)secure app development and endpoint security measures.



Importance of Computer Security:-
                        1.Prevents data breaches and unauthorized access.
                2.That way protects individual information like passwords and their financial details.
                3.It safeguards inte;;ectual properties and important business information.
                4.Ensure system and services availability to avoid downtime.

Common Threats:-



1.Malware:Viruses,worms,ransomware,and spyware that are created to damage or disrupt system.

2.Phishing:Attempts to steal sensitive information through spamming or offering fake websites through emails.

3.Hacking:Unauthorized access to system,often exploiting vulnerbilities.

4.Insider Threats:Threats from employees or contractors with access to system.

5.Social Engineering:Persuading people to obtain unauthorized access.
