Software is sometimes said to be the language of the computer-it is a collection of programs or instructions developed by a firm whose product possesses a processor; software is therefore a set of programs or instructions intended to achieve an assigned task. It is the collection of instructions that the computer has to perform or instruct the nonphysical components of the computer to do, programs and proprietory, open software, shareware and freeware.


Types Of Software-


1.Application Software-

Application Software is the computer program which assists in accomplishing a specific task or activity.Application software differs from system software as it is mainly focused on the productivity of end-users rather than hardware and basic system operations.


2.Programming Software-

Programming Software refers to tools and platforms that developers use for writing,testing,debugging,and managing software code.These tools stremline as it application development and ensure that the written code ts efficient and fully functional.Here's an overview of programming software categories.


3.System Software-

System Software refers to the software designed to provides a platform for other software and to manage hardware components of a computer.It acts as an intermediary between hardware and application software,ensuring proper fuctuinally and usability of the entire system.



4.Driver Software-

Driver software is computer programs that enable that the operating system (OS)or any other software to communicate with hardware devices.the drovers work like a translator between the hardware and the software,hence allowing the OS yo utilize the capabilities of the hardware without knowing their precise details.
